By Peter Hall - 25th June 2007 - Back to News

Mr Hall has encouraged Victorian ex-service organisations, not-for-profit community groups and councils in the Gippsland region to apply for funding through the Victorian Veterans Fund.

"The fund has been set up to honour and commemorate the service and sacrifice of our veterans and educate the community about Victoria’s involvement in Australia’s war and service history," he said.

Grants up to $50,000 are available for education and commemoration projects through the fund.

"The Victorian Veterans Fund will support a range of commemorative and educative initiatives to improve the community’s understanding of the important contributions made by our service men and women," Mr Hall said.

"I’m pleased to see that the contribution and sacrifice of our ex servicemen and women is being recognised by the Victorian Government with this funding."

Applications close on July 9. Application forms and guidelines are available from

Mr Hall’s office at 190 Franklin Street, Traralgon or online at www.veterans.vic.gov.au

More information about the Victorian Veterans Fund can also be obtained by contacting the Department of Victorian Communities on 1300 366 356.
