Students Back At School For Bracks Brainwashing

Victorian children returning to school this week will be brainwashed with propaganda, thanks to the Bracks Government and an international animal liberation organisation.

Shadow Minister for Agriculture Philip Davis today warned the Bracks Government that if it did nothing to stop animal liberation organisations infiltrating the state’s school system with harmful campaigns, there would be serious repercussions for the students themselves and the farming industry.

"Whether parents like it or not, the Bracks Government is allowing seriously inaccurate and damaging misinformation about Victoria’s farming practices to be shoved down their children’s throats," Mr Davis said.

"Agriculture is the lifeblood of Victoria, and to allow young minds to be filled with incorrect information about essential farming practices amounts to serious negligence on the part of the Bracks Government.

"Man and animal are mutually dependent on each other and essentially what this group is pushing is a vegan agenda – vegans are against the use of animals for any purpose.

"Victoria’s farming practices are among the most humane in the world with close scrutiny by regulatory authorities, no checks have been made into the validity of the claims being made by this radical anti-farming group."

Mr Davis called on the Minister for Education Lynne Kosky make a stand and stop schools being used to force extremist views upon children as part of their everyday learning.

"The Minister needs to take responsibility for what is being taught in our state schools, it’s simply not good enough to suggest that schools can make the decision whether to pass on this information to students or not," he said.

"This brainwashing will have a catastrophic affect on farming families, with children raised on the land being brainwashed at school that the way their families work their properties and stock is inhuman.

Mr Davis said the Bracks Government must stand up to this extremist animal liberation group and protect our children.

"Now is not the time for the Bracks Government to keep quiet in an attempt to remain politically correct," he said.

"If this isn’t part of the official school curriculum, it should be banned – no question about it.

"Something must be done to stop this propaganda from confusing our children, the most vulnerable members of our community."
