Results Of Moe Activity Centre Consultation ReleasedThe results of consultation processes used to help develop the Moe Activity Centre Master Plan which is currently being prepared, are available for public perusal. By Latrobe City - 24th September 2007 - Back to News Latrobe City’s manager Transit Cities and Community Partnerships, Jane Burton, said the Moe Activity Centre master-planning process has included an extensive community consultation process.
"This process included the ‘Search Conference’ held on 30 March 2007 and the Speak Out held on 11 August 2007.
"The results of these consultation activities have been put together as the ‘Addendum: Consultation Transcripts’ and this is now available for pubic viewing.
"The addendum contains comments from the Search Conference that people made about their current perceptions of Moe – their views on transport, shopping, housing, amenities and the natural environment.
"Ideas, suggestions and people’s aspirations for the Moe of the future were also sought and have been recorded and presented in the publication," Ms Burton explained.
"At the Moe Speak Out people were shown images of their own and other environments and asked to identify how much appeal a facility, streetscape or environment had for them. Those who took part in the Moe Speak Out can compare their own thoughts with the thoughts of others submitted on the same day. There were also a wealth of ideas presented by people young and old on the day, which highlight what they like or dislike about Moe, and what they envisage Moe should be in ten years time.
"A copy of the ‘Addendum: Consultation Transcripts’ can be obtained by visiting one of council’s service centres at either, Moe, Morwell or Traralgon, or alternatively anyone in our community can obtain a copy from council’s website at www.latrobe.vic.gov.au.
"The draft plan for the Moe Activity Centre is currently being prepared and will be released later this year for public comment. The community will once again be able to provide feedback during the four-week consultation phase once this occurs," Ms Burton added.
