Stage One Inverloch Complete

Stage one of the Inverloch Hub project which includes a new library, a permanent home for the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and a new customer service area is soon to be complete.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 6th July 2009 - Back to News

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Community Services Manager, Liz Wright, said opening of Stage One of the hub marked a real milestone in the project.
"I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the project and thank the Inverloch community for their patience while these works have been completed," said Ms Wright.
From 22 July the Library, VIC, and Customer Service Centre will be moving to their new locations. As a result, there will be some closures.
"On Monday 27 July the Inverloch Library and Council’s Customer Service Centre will open in the new Hub premises.
"Entry to the Hub will now be through A’Beckett Street and entry to the gym through the skate park. The Riley Street entrance will be closed," explained Ms Wright.
"The Library will be closed from Wednesday 22 July to Saturday 25 July 2009. If you have items due during this time, please renew at www.wgrlc.vic.gov.au or phone the Regional Support Centre on 5622 2849.
"The VIC will be closed on 22 July and reopen at its new location at the hub on 23 July," explained Ms Wright.
"Council Customer Services will be temporarily available from the Visitor Information Centre for two days from Thursday 23 July to Friday 24 July.
"We know that these closures and the changeover will cause some inconvenience, but we are trying to keep them to a minimum and we hope the community will understand," said Ms Wright.
Work on Stage Two will take place from August to December. Meetings rooms and the maternal and child health space will be re-developed.
"With the change over from stage one to stage two works, the gym facilities, town hall, maternal child health service and Inverloch playgroup will all be affected."
For more information on the closures and about the Hub development log onto www.basscoast.vic.gov.au or call 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
