Recognition Of Excellent Emergency ManagementBass Coast Shire Council has presented Recognition Awards to members of the community who have dedicated their time to emergency management. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 30th September 2005 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin, presented Bob Phillips, Mary O’Connor and Bob Cornelis with framed certificates. In their absence, certificates for Kevin and Leslie Haines were presented to present Controller, Phillip Island State Emergency Service Unit, Grant Harris.

The five community members received awards for excellent service to emergency management for their work in the following capacity:
Bob Cornelis – Former Officer in Charge of the Bass Coast Shire Police District.
Kevin Haines – Past Controller, Phillip Island State Emergency Service Unit

"The dedication of these people is something we are all grateful for and deserves formal recognition," said Cr Goodwin. "Efficient emergency management is a vital service to the community.
