Mallacoota Golf Club gets $1.9M funding for redevelopment from federal government
Mallacoota Golf Club volunteers are redeveloping the course after receiving a $1.9 million government grant, including new greens, fairways, tee boxes, and a nature trail. The project will finish in mid-next year.
The volunteers at Mallacoota Golf Club are turning the Black Summer bushfires into a positive with a major redevelopment of the picturesque course. With the support of a $1.9 million government grant, the volunteers are undertaking a project that completely changes the course layout to maximise its ocean-side location.

New greens, fairways and tee boxes are all part of the project which has already seen improved irrigation systems installed, the project will also include a nature trail for keen walkers. Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says the club members are making every dollar go a long way with improvements to the clubhouse already providing a boost for locals and visitors.
"The course work depends on the growing season for grass to re-establish itself so the entire project won't be finished until the middle of next year but it's going to be worth the wait. Well done to everyone involved in helping the club get this far and good luck with the work ahead." Mr Chester said.
