Outdoor pools to have extended seasonLatrobe City’s three outdoor pools will remain open throughout March. By Latrobe City Council - 14th March 2001 - Back to News Latrobe City’s three outdoor pools will remain open throughout March following a decision by Council on Monday night.
Latrobe City Mayor, Councillor Tony Hanning said Council called for a feasibility report from Council officers at Monday night’s meeting, and after an assessment had been made during the week, confirmed that it was practical for the pools to have an extended season.
This has been an exceedingly hot season and substantial numbers of citizens are still using the pools on the warm days we are experiencing. Daylight saving still has a few weeks to run, and children are looking to escape the heat after school,” Cr Hanning explained.
“We normally close the outdoor pools following the holiday weekend in March, but this year we will extend the season in the interests of our citizens,” Cr Hanning said.
Normal school term opening hours apply; 3-6pm Monday-Friday, and from noon until 6pm at weekends. Opening is subject to the normal temperature considerations.
Council’s outdoor pools operate in Moe, Yallourn North and Traralgon.
