Church Street Fiesta
Friday 22nd November, 2002
Preparation has now commenced and the date has been set for the 12th Annual Church Street Fiesta scheduled for Friday the 22nd of November. Thanks to the Gippsland Migrant Resource Centre (GMRC) and Co–ordinator Tony Salvatore from AMP Financial Planning.
In the past 11 years the Church Street Fiesta has been arguably the best multi-cultural event in the history of Latrobe Valley. The fiesta will extend to Buckley Street, promoting and increasing awareness to all local community and ethnic groups.
The community event will be sponsored by AMP, a national partner, and it promises to be bigger and better as the Church Street Fiesta starts to take shape. Continuing with the multi-cultural theme, you will see the traditional food, dance, music and craft demonstrations as well as a lot more.
We are inviting all previous participants & any new community groups to get behind the fiesta & demonstrate the culture within our community.
On the night we will launch the Latrobe City World Cup Soccer Series . Players will parade on the night and demonstrate some skills. The event will run on the fiesta weekend & local soccer clubs will form country teams with the playoff on Sunday 24th November 2002.
The fiesta has become famous for its food, dance, rhythm & rides for all the community. This year we are doing more, any money raised will be donated to charity. AMP will match this amount $1.00 for $1.00.
Get your groups together, dance routines, singing talents, food stalls, craft stalls or any multi-cultural entertainment and be part of a spectacular night at the Fiesta and soak up the atmosphere."
If you would like to know further details about the event please come to our next meeting or contact Tony Salvatore on 51339533.
