Launch of great new website expected to boost Moe's reputation

By Emma Kae - 16th September 2002 - Back to News

The Internet is slowly becoming accepted as one of Gippsland’s greatest tools for regional development. The new Moe Town Portal website is no exception.

The website is an opportunity for the town of Moe to promote subjects of interest to both local and global audiences. Maintained by the Moe Development Group, the website will appeal to the town’s community, with information on coming projects and Moe related issues. It will also promote Moe as an attractive tourist destination for travellers who happen upon the site.

In addition to general information about the town and surrounding areas, the website will be a tool for communication, with the facilitation of discussion expected to occur soon. Popular events such as the MoTown Carnival, Moe Cup 3 Hour Sale and the annual Christmas Celebrations will all be heavily promoted on the website, attracting attention and initiating curiosity.

The official launch of the website took place Tuesday, 17 September 2002, with a celebration witnessed by the large audience of local dignitaries and members of the public present. It is hoped that the website will help to establish Moe as a growing, prosperous town with a bright future.

Big smiles for Helen Johns, Antony Svasek and Ian Hood.
