Gallery director, Jacqui Hemsley said that the ‘Guggenheim Collection: 1940s to Now’ features iconic artworks from the 1940s to the present by internationally renowned artists such as Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Gilbert & George, and Jeff Koons.

"While the majority of the presentation is drawn from the holdings of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, select masterpieces from other Guggenheim collections in Venice, Bilbao, and Berlin are also featured. The exhibition introduces artists whose work has never been seen before in Melbourne, and some of the Guggenheim’s most recent acquisitions are premiered at the NGV," Ms Hemsley said.

Fees for the visit to the NGV are $40 for Friends members and $45 for the general public and include the bus ride to and from Melbourne, morning tea at the NGV upon arrival, and entry into the exhibition.

For more information, or to reserve a place on the trip, contact the gallery on 5128 5700, fax 5128 5706 or email lrg@latrobe.vic.gov.au.
