By Portal Admin - 1st July 2020 - Back to News Residents within the Morwell Electorate will have more opportunities to get active and play sport, with four local sporting clubs receiving funding to improve the health of the local community.
"I commend the Churchill Baseball Club, the Morwell Netball Association, Morwell Pegasus Soccer Club and the Southside Junior Football Club for submitting fantastic initiatives that will increase local sporting participation opportunities," Mr Northe said.
The clubs will share in almost $11,000 in Active Club Grants to deliver new sport programs including uniforms, injury prevention and equipment. VicHealth CEO, Dr Sandro Demaio said Active Club Grants will support sporting clubs to encourage locals to enjoy better health through community sport. "As our daily lives and routines continue to change, it’s vital we continue to be physically active and socially connected, and joining a local sports club is a great place to start," Dr Demaio said.
