The Moe Early Learning Centre encouraged families to support Daffodil Day on Friday 24 August 2007, by dressing their children in yellow colours and providing a gold coin donation, to help cancer care research.

Daffodil Day has been held in eight countries around the world for the last 30 years supporting cancer research, education and patients support for those affected by cancer. Daffodil Day is also a celebration for those who have survived the illness and to emphasise hope to current cancer patients.

Children attending the Moe Early Learning Centre had the great pleasure of having a yellow morning tea which consisted of all sorts of yellow fruits and vegetables together with crackers and tasty yellow cheese. A parent also donated a yellow lunch for the children to enjoy.

Throughout the day the children had learned why Daffodil Day is such an important event for the whole community. Yellow activities run by the centre included making daffodil flowers and children’s all-time favourites yellow play-dough and pasting.

Money raised by the centre will go towards the Cancer Council Daffodil Day Appeal.
