Colourful display of local works at GalleryA colourful exhibition of recent works by local artist Kerrie Warren is now showing at the International Power Hazelwood Community Access Gallery at the Latrobe Regional Gallery. By Latrobe Shire Council - 5th November 2004 - Back to News Gallery Director, Louise Tegart, said that the exhibition entitled ‘Through My Rose Coloured Windows’ was a body of work that expressed the artist’s personal journey.
"The collection explores the elements of earth, air, fire and water through the medium of landscape painting. Using different viewpoints within the landscape, the artist has created a sense of balance and harmony through the interpretation of imagery, bordering on the abstract," Ms Tegart explained.
"Warren has used a generous mix of acrylic and oil to create visual depth and interesting layers achieved by using a variety of brushstrokes and techniques," Ms Tegart said. "This exhibition is a bold expression of the world through the artist’s eyes," Ms Tegart concluded.
‘Through My Rose Coloured Windows’ continues to Sunday 21 November, 2004.
The Latrobe Regional Gallery is located at 138 Commercial Road, Morwell, and is open Tuesday to Friday 10am-5pm, and on weekends 11am–4pm. The gallery is closed Mondays and Public Holidays. For further information about exhibitions at the gallery, please telephone 5128 5700.
