Hade Avenue Road Works Have Started

Bass Coast Shire Council has started works on Hade Avenue in Bass to renew a section of road north of the bridge.

By Bass Coast - 16th March 2011 - Back to News

Council’s Acting Infrastructure Director, Felicity Sist, said the project would involve renewing the existing kerb, footpath, road pavement and sealing works.

"This is part of a project to renew roads that have reached their maximum lifespan," said Ms Sist.

"This part of Hade Avenue is in poor condition and the works we have planned will be a remarkable improvement.

"We will be working from the Hade Avenue Bridge through to the general store area.

"Obviously there will be some disruption to road users. However this will be kept to an absolute minimum and we will help out with alternative access arrangements to local businesses and property owners when needed," continued Ms Sist.

The $208,000 project is funded by Council through its Capital Works Program.

Works started late February 2011 and depending on weather the project is expected to be finished by late March 2011.
