Northe’s Tribute to Local Service Men and WomenTribute to men and women following ANSAC Day. By Portal Admin - 25th May 2019 - Back to News Yesterday in State Parliament, Member for Morwell Russell Northe has paid tribute to our service men and women following local ANZAC Day commemorations last week.
"It was a privilege to rise in Parliament to pay my respects to our service men and women, and to give ANZAC Day a fitting acknowledgement", Mr Northe said, "we are forever grateful for the sacrifice, commitment and dedication of all our armed forces personnel in protecting our lives and our freedoms".
"My deepest respects go out to the returned service and community clubs that continue to uphold our local area, and - who every year - coordinate our high-quality, moving ANZAC Day commemorations and events", Mr Northe said.
"This year, the high attendance at the Traralgon dawn service and later at the parade and services at Traralgon, Tyers-Yallourn North and Morwell, was just fabulous to see. It was a privilege to attend these events and it was particularly wonderful to see so many school children involved in the tradition of laying wreaths and paying their respects. It gives me so much pride and hope to see the tradition and reverence of supporting our service personnel being passed on to the local future generations".
"Lest we forget".
