Input Sought On Review Of Airport Master Plan

The Latrobe Regional Airport Board is undertaking a review of the airport’s master plan and is inviting members of the community to attend ‘meet the planner sessions’ to help guide the future development of the airport.

By Latrobe City Council - 21st April 2009 - Back to News

Chair of the Latrobe Regional Airport Board, Paul Buckley, said that Latrobe Regional Airport is integral to the Latrobe Valley’s transport network and ranks as one of the best regional airports in Australia.

"Latrobe Regional Airport Board manages the airport on behalf of Latrobe City Council and is dedicated to the pursuit of commercial development opportunities and the creation of aviation-related employment.

"The proposed review of the airport’s master plan will establish a planning framework for the delivery of identified development and management priorities for the next twenty years. To assist in the review process, planning consultants Aurecon have been appointed to prepare a new master plan and planning framework," Mr Buckley said.

"Aurecon consultants will seek input from the community in identifying what is appropriate for development of the airport into the future to meet the needs of the community. Interested parties are invited to meet with the consulting team in ‘meet the planner’ sessions, made by appointment only. These sessions will be held on the afternoon of Monday 20 April 2009, with sessions commencing at 1pm.

"Community input from all stakeholders will be an important part of this process and anybody with a strong interest in the development of Latrobe Regional Airport is urged to make an appointment to attend a session," Mr Buckley concluded.

To participate please call Julie Quinn (Aurecon’s stakeholder consultation contact) on (03) 8683 1306 to arrange an appointment, or to discuss alternative opportunities for information sharing, should you be unavailable on the above date.
