Local Exporters’ Time To Shine  2011 Australian Export Awards Member for Morwell and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business Russell Northe has encouraged Victoria’s exporting companies to apply for the prestigious 2011 Governor of Victoria Export Awards. By Russell Northe - 11th May 2011 - Back to News Mr Northe said the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland have a wealth of products which are exported regularly, and these awards recognised local companies at the top of their exporting field. "By nominating you can help to shape Victoria’s exporting future and show the nation exactly what our region is capable of," Mr Northe said. "The Governor of Victoria Export Awards puts local exporters’ achievements into the spotlight, providing increased business credibility and boosting staff morale. "It can give you access to new resources and new markets, and help to underpin companies ongoing export success." Now in its 32nd year, the Governor of Victoria Export Awards are presented across 14 categories during a formal ceremony at Government House in October. Victorian winners are then eligible to participate in the 2011 Australian Export Awards with the winners being announced in Brisbane in November 2011. Mr Northe said the Victorian Government was working to lift Victoria’s export performance, secure jobs for Victorians and help many more world-class businesses make their mark in the global economy "To do this, we are going to increase funding for more clearly targeted existing programs and deliver new strategies," Mr Northe said. "We are also delighted to again be part of this exciting Awards program which celebrates the excellence and achievement of our very best exporters. "I encourage all Latrobe Valley and Gippsland businesses to support the 2011 Governor of Victoria Export Awards and look forward to discovering more world-class export stories that are unfolding across our region," Mr Northe said.
