Disruption to Maffra Library ServiceMaffra Library will close for one week starting Monday 1 May while new carpet is laid. By Wellington Shire Council - 12th April 2006 - Back to News Wellington Shire Council’s Library Support coordinator Cathy Carr said "Unfortunately we need to close the library while we remove all the books and shelving to allow the work to be done. Once the work is complete we then need to return the books and shelving, so as you can imagine it will be a big job.
"The library closure will be a short term inconvenience but the result will improve the library for everyone. The new carpet will compliment the recently refurbished children’s area and is part of a maintenance program that endeavours to ensure the library is a nice place to visit" she said.
"Those needing to use library services are reminded that loans can be renewed over the phone on 5142 3368 or online, via the council website www.wellington.vic.gov.au/library" she said.
Patrons can also access all other libraries within the Wellington Shire, including Sale and Stratford.
The library will reopen Monday 8 May.
