Pit Stop In Paynesville For St Kilda TeamPaynesville residents will have a chance to meet the St Kilda Football Team at the town’s main wharf at 2.45 pm tomorrow. By East Gippsland Shire Council - 1st February 2005 - Back to News East Gippsland Shire Council negotiated last minute arrangements to include a quick "pit stop" for the players.
The Thunderbird cruise boat will leave the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club after a Civic Reception that concludes at 2.30 pm, bound for Lakes Entrance.
However instead of taking the more direct route, the boat will now stop at the main Paynesville wharf so that locals can meet and greet the players.
Acting CEO Kate Nelson said the Paynesville stop would enable more members of the community to share the excitement of having the team in the region.
"Virtually all the players on the club’s list will be aboard Thunderbird, so it is a great chance to see the stars and grab an autograph or a photograph."
