Road Safety Boost for Lakes Entrance SchoolIntroduction of electronic speed signs to improve safety around St Brendan’s Primary School in Lakes Entrance. By Portal Admin - 12th November 2018 - Back to News The Andrews Labor Government is improving safety around St Brendan’s Primary School in Lakes Entrance, introducing electronic speed signs to help keep kids and families safe.
The $108,000 investment will replace the existing static school speed zone signs on the Princes Highway with new electronic 40km/hr signs, making it easier for drivers to identify and slow down when entering the school zone.
More than 7,000 vehicles use this section of the Princes Highway every day.
The upgrade will help address safety concerns of the school community and increase awareness of school speed zones for drivers.
The new signs will be operational for the first school day of term one 2019.
These improvements are being delivered as part of the Labor Government’s $5 million school road safety package, aimed at improving high-risk roads near local schools.
This road safety package was announced in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 and delivers upgrades, crossing improvements and electronic speed limit signs at school zones throughout Victoria.
