Thousands of books for sale

In a joint effort the Wellington Shire Council and the Rotary Club of Sale Central will be holding a Giant Book Sale of ex-library books.

By Wellington Shire Council - 2nd June 2006 - Back to News

These are cancelled books that are no longer required in the library collection.

The book sale will be held at the Sale Memorial Hall on:

Thursday 15 June 10am - 7pm

Friday 16 June 10am - 4pm

Saturday 17 June 10am - 12 noon

All items will be at affordable prices, so members of the public are encouraged to come along and pick up a bargain.

Proceeds of the book sale will be used by Sale Central Rotary to fund their community projects, including the Baby Bag project with the Wellington Shire Council.

"This is a great example of local government and community groups working together. We are thankful to the Rotary Club for their support and assistance" said Cathy Carr, Library Coordinator for Wellington Shire Council.

The Baby Bag information kit project will provide children born in the Wellington Shire with a bag containing a children’s book, information to parents about literacy and early learning, important local information and useful contacts for new parents.
