Ride for FreeAll residents can ride for free on the low-flor bus next week (Monday 27 November – Friday 1st December) as part of the Wellington Shire Council’s celebration of International Day of People with a Disability. By Wellington Shire Council - 28th November 2006 - Back to News "The low floor bus service provides greater transport options for all our residents, including better access for those people who find it difficult to get in and out of conventional busses or have a disability" said Sheryl McHugh, Transport Project Officer, Wellington Shire Council.
"This is a great opportunity for those who haven’t used the service before to come and give it a try" said Ms McHugh.
The bus operates on selected Sale services each weekday and the Sale/Coastal Bus route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On Thursdays the bus operates the Stratford to Sale service.
The bus has space for two wheelchairs, wide aisles for easy access and its design provides under floor storage or passengers’ luggage and shopping.
