Lara Tincknell from Swan Reach Lara Tincknell gets visit from Darren Chester for winning Heywire competition by ABC
In Parliament House, Darren Chester, Federal Member for Gippsland, met Lara Tincknell, a young Heywire competition winner from Swan Reach, who shared her Black Summer bushfire experiences and VCE plans.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester caught up with a young Gippsland winner of the ABC's Heywire competition in Parliament House. Heywire is a live experience storytelling competition run by the ABC, calling for stories from young people aged between 16-22 years in regional, rural and remote Australia. Lara Tincknell from Swan Reach, wrote about her experiences in the Black Summer bushfires and last week she was in Canberra meeting other winners from across the nation.
With Darren Chester is Lara Tincknell, from Swan Reach, shared her Black Summer bushfire story. Now in Canberra, she met national winners and had a chat with ABC's Laura Tingle
Lara has a big year of VCE studies ahead. She is one of the school captains at Bairnsdale Secondary College and is planning a career in allied health. A bit of good timing, ABC 7.30 Report presenter Laura Tingle was walking past and I was able to introduce Lara, and they had a great chat. Good luck Lara, and well done on your Heywire success!
