Traralgon Table Tennis Celebrates 70 Years
Efforts and commitment of those who have served Traralgon Table Tennis Association were recognized as the committee celebrates its 70 years.
Member for Morwell Russell Northe attended the 70 year celebration of the Traralgon Table Tennis Association last weekend.
With over 80 people in attendance it was a night for reflection on the wonderful history and achievements of the Traralgon Table Tennis Association and its hundreds of volunteers, administrators and players.
Table Tennis is a sport for persons of all ages and all-abilities and the Association can be proud of its contribution to the region for 70 years. It’s not just the participation aspect but the social environment that table tennis to which makes it a great sport.
"I had the pleasure to assist in a special presentation to Rob Thompson who was presented with a lifetime of service award for his outstanding contribution to the Traralgon Table Tennis Association over a period of decades" Mr Northe said.
And to also see Roger Thorn be awarded with Life Membership was very special for everyone in the room" Mr Northe continued.
Association President Mark Strini said, "It was great to have Ritchie Hinton the CEO of Table Tennis Victoria and Russell attend, we have always appreciated their collective support of our Association and look forward to that continuing into the future."
The effort and commitment of those who have served on the Committee over the years is something to be applauded and to be celebrating 70 years is simply a remarkable feat.
"The celebrations were well received and included a current overview of the Association and also a brief summary our history, including right from the very beginning and at the inception of our Association." said Mr Strini.
