Extensive Upgrades Complete at the VRI HallThe VRI Hall in Traralgon is now re-open to the local community. By Portal Admin - 3rd November 2019 - Back to News The VRI Hall in Traralgon is now re-open to the local community, following an extensive refurbishment project funded by the Victorian Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing MP today welcomed the reopening of the facility, which was redeveloped thanks to a $150,000 Victorian Government grant through the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community, and Facility Fund.
The grant recipient, Traralgon Neighbourhood Learning House provides low cost opportunities for community activities and houses a number of community projects at The VRI Hall in Traralgon.
Traralgon Neighbourhood Learning House runs over 60 classes with 500 people participating every week, the upgrades to the VRI Hall provides additional space to improve and increase the number of classes offered.
The hall is also used by other organisations for a range of activities including meetings, social activities, classes and workshops.
The project has created a more comfortable and secure space, a commercial kitchen, ambulant amenities, and an accessible community garden.
Close to 170 community projects have now been realised thanks to grants totalling more than $15 million from the Victorian Government through the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund.
