Council Faces Grading Difficulties

Long dry conditions and a lack of water is affecting road maintenance in the Wellington Shire.

By Wellington Shire - 7th February 2007 - Back to News

"We are now unable to grade many of our unsealed roads because it is so dry and because of the difficulty in obtaining water for road maintenance" said Dieter Figas, Manager of Road Assets for Wellington Shire Council.

"There are some gravel roads we need to maintain for safety reasons, but some roads will be rougher than we would like.

"We hope that all road users will understand the situation council is faced with and drive safely and according to the conditions" said Mr Figas.
