affecting almost one third of the population.

Council’s Community Strengthening Manager, Antoinette Mitchell, said living with or caring for someone who lives with arthritis could sometimes be challenging.

"Raising awareness of the help available for those with arthritis is extremely important," said Ms Mitchell.

"We’ve invited Arthritis Victoria to Bass Coast to talk to our residents about how arthritis can be best managed, can it be prevented and what services are available to make living with arthritis easier.

"Interested residents are invited to join us on Thursday, 26 May in Newhaven to hear from staff at Arthritis Victoria. The forum is in the meeting room at the Phillip Island Visitor Information Centre, Phillip Island Tourist Road, Newhaven," continued Ms Mitchell.

Morning tea will be from 10.30am with the guest speaker beginning at 11.00am.

Please RSVP to Kylie Pryor on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or email kylie.pryor@basscoast.vic.gov.au by Friday, 20 May.
