Coronet Bay Boat Ramp – Have Your Say!

Bass Coast Shire Council is encouraging boat users in Coronet Bay to provide feedback on a concept plan for a boat ramp suitable to launch and retrieve small trailer boats at high tide.

By Bass Coast - 9th September 2010 - Back to News

Council’s Environment Manager, Paul Smith said the concept plan would be on display until 13 October 2010.

"The concept plan is a significant step to providing boat launching facilities for the area," said Mr Smith.

"The plan was developed after extensive input from the boating community and residents.

"This led to a feasibility study which recommended the installation of a new flexi mat boat ramp over the beach to mid tide level."

Council then commissioned a report to investigate what the environmental impacts of the proposed ramp might be.

"The report provided a detailed analysis of the coastal environmental conditions and recommended that the proposed boat ramp be located on the southern area of the site to minimise impact on the beach."

The concept plan and feedback form has been sent to residents and boat users who provided initial feedback or registered an interest in the project. The plan is also available at the Bass Coast Customer Service centre at Grantville and at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au

For further information or for hardcopies of the plan, please contact Council’s Environment Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278). Closing date for feedback on the plan is 13 October 2010.
