Emergency Repair Works Around Inverloch Boat Ramp

Bass Coast Shire Council will undertake emergency repair works around the Inverloch Boat Ramp, after massive storms and tidal action damaged the rock wall and car park.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 19th July 2005 - Back to News

Council’s Team Leader of Technical Services, Charles Taveira, says that while the boat ramp is still useable, the damaged rock wall and car park will need to be reconstructed.

"The damaged areas will be removed and reconstructed to provide improved protection to the infrastructure and enable the carpark and footpath to be made useable again.

"The works also mean that the area will be of a higher standard to cope with future weather conditions, as designed by a qualified coastal engineer," said Mr Taveira.

The works will begin from 18 July and are to be completed by the end of July.

"We thank the community for their patience while these urgent works take place," Mr Taveira continued.

For further information or to find out where alternative boat ramps are located contact Council on (03) 5671 2211 or (03) 5951 3311.
