The meeting is being held in conjunction with the Glengarry Community Progress Association and Latrobe City Council is calling on all residents and interested parties to attend the meeting to be held at the Glengarry Hall, corner Cairnbrook and Railway Roads, starting at 6.30pm.

Cr Graeme Middlemiss said that Latrobe City was delighted to have been chosen as a stop on this year’s Bike Ride.

"With an anticipated 3000 riders participating in the ride, it will be one of the biggest cycling events ever to come to the municipality. Day Four of the ride, Tuesday 2 December, is from Briagolong to Glengarry, with riders staying overnight in the Glengarry sports area," Cr Middlemiss explained.

"Riders will then depart Glengarry on Wednesday 3 December for the ride to Yarram, with a morning rest stop at Traralgon South," Cr Middlemiss said.

"This is a great opportunity for us to showcase what our region has to offer. Riders and spectators can see our beautiful and varied landscapes, and experience the hospitality and warmth of Latrobe City and its residents," Cr Middlemiss continued.

"I urge anyone who would be interested in being part of the overnight stay in Glengarry to attend the meeting on Tuesday 26 August. We can really work together to put Glengarry and the surrounding areas on the map for those thousands of cyclists and ensure that they will want to come back again for a longer and more leisurely stay in the future," Cr Middlemiss concluded.
