Masterful performance by Seaspray athletes at Victorian Masters Championships 2022 in Lorne
Seaspray Surf Life Saving Club members aged 35-73 competed at Lorne SLSC and the local community.
This weekend, 11 Seaspray Surf Life Saving Club members aged 35-73 competed in the 2022 Victorian Masters Championships at Lorne Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), and they are:
- Sally Black
- James Brown
- Kristine Gilbert
- Benjamin Greenwood
- Bruce Johnston
- Michael Kent
- Emma Lazzaro
- Neil Lazzaro
- Stuart Mawley
- Philippa McInnes
- William Noble
These members all pulled on the red, white and brown cap to proudly represent their club.
Current endurance champions are turning in winning performances in their late 30s and 40s
Encouraging increased opportunities
Life Saving Victoria general manager education, sport and club development Kate Simpson said, "This season, encouraging increased opportunities for our masters competitors has been a key priority, so we are delighted to have had 11 Seaspray SLSC athletes giving their all at this weekend's championships."
Lifesaving is for everyone, of all ages and abilities and sport is a fantastic way for our patrolling members to actively train so they are rescue ready when patrolling our beaches. We are very grateful to Lorne SLSC and the local community for hosting us in this great region and we can't wait to return in two weeks' time for the Victorian Junior Championships.

35-39 years ironman:
- 1st: Neil Lazzaro, Seaspray SLSC
35-39 years male double ski race:
- 1st: Seaspray SLSC (Benjamin Greenwood, Neil Lazzaro)
- 2nd: Ocean Grove SLSC (Sean McGee, Peter Wilson)

140+ years female surf boat race:
- 1st: Seaspray SLSC "Fortified"
- 2nd: Lorne SLSC "Funbags"
