Philip Davis New Shadow Minister For EducationLiberal Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Philip Davis, has been appointed the new Shadow Minister for Education. By Parliament of Victoria - 12th December 2006 - Back to News Although counting has not yet been completed for the Upper House, it appears Mr Davis has been returned, along with a new Upper House MP for Eastern Victoria Region in Edward O’Donohue.
"I am delighted that it appears I have been returned for another term to represent the people of Gippsland in the new Eastern Victoria region," Mr Davis said.
"This will mean the Liberal Party has two Upper House members of Parliament in Eastern Victoria Region, in addition to six Lower House members.
"I look forward to the challenge of representing this new, larger electorate."
Mr Davis said he was also excited about a new challenge in the Education portfolio.
"I look forward to taking on the challenges of the Education sector throughout Victoria," Mr Davis said.
"With around 2000 primary, secondary and tertiary, government and non-government education establishments in Victoria, the Education portfolio is diverse and presents a great opportunity."
