Energy and Emotion in Sport at Latrobe Regional GalleryEnergy and Emotion in Sport is the next exhibition in the International Power Hazelwood Community Access Gallery commencing on Wednesday 16 February. By Latrobe City Council - 11th February 2005 - Back to News Gallery Director Louise Tegart said that this exhibition formed part of the Latrobe City Energy in Sport celebrations which were taking place this month and was a must for all sport enthusiasts.
"Allan MacFadyen’s photographs are a documentary of assertive actions, emotional energy and sports people striving for their ambitions regardless of the score-sheet at the end of the day.
"As a sports photographer MacFadyen aims to capture the performance of locals in their chosen sport including football, rodeo, equestrian and car hill climbs," Ms Tegart explained.
Ms Tegart added that during many years behind the camera MacFadyen had realised the importance of sports culture. "Spectator participation and camaraderie within the sports generates a very encouraging and supportive environment which is evident in these photographs," Ms Tegart said.
"Becoming familiar with the sport, the people, and in some cases, the animals involved has allowed MacFadyen to photograph the energy and emotion as it happens," Ms Tegart concluded.
Energy and Emotion in Sport will be officially opened at 6pm on Wednesday 16 February and continues until Tuesday 1 March, 2005..
