Official Opening of the Traralgon West Sporting Complex First Floor
Traralgon West Sporting Complex officially opened.
Latrobe City Mayor Cr Graeme Middlemiss was joined by Darren Chester Federal MP for Gippsland and fellow Latrobe City Councillors Cr Darren Howe, Cr Dan Clancey, Cr Dale Harriman, Cr Kellie O'Callaghan, Cr Alan McFarlane and Cr Sharon Gibson to officially open the newly outfitted first floor of the Traralgon West Sporting Complex. This fully accessible multi-purpose space features a large function room, kitchen, bar and the capability to enhance game day experiences for the complex which features 5 sporting ovals. The Traralgon West Sporting Complex is activated by the community year around and has two annual seasonal residents of Traralgon West Cricket Club and West End Junior Football Club.
Stage 1 of the Traralgon West Sporting Complex was completed in 2011 but did not include the outfitting of the first floor. In 2018 the Federal Government committed $300,000 to ensure the outfitting of the Traralgon West Sporting Complex first floor could be completed. Latrobe City Council contributed $120,000 and delivered the project using local contractors.

The Traralgon West Sporting Complex is one of Latrobe City's most activated community facility with a number of community clubs depending on the site for a great number of community based activities.
The completion of the second stage of the Traralgon West Sporting Complex has been a long time coming and the community group who use the facility will be finally able to the use the site to its full capacity.
