By Latrobe City - 28th January 2011 - Back to News

Life seems idyllic for Marisa (Jacinda Barrett) and her son, Jack (Tom Russell), until Jack ends up in hospital and Marisa tries to find her husband, David (Richard Roxburgh), who is interstate with his mistress. Jack is diagnosed with leukaemia and the only possibility of a cure is if David has had a child from one of his many flings who could be a bone marrow donor. Marisa searches high and low for possibilities and the full scale of David’s infidelity is revealed.

The film beautifully captures the power of love and the resilience of the human spirit.

‘Matching Jack’ will screen at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Monday 7 February at 7pm. Tickets are $5 or free for members. Refreshments available from 6pm. Book through Box Office on 5176 3559.

Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that with such a powerful film kicking off the year’s program, now would be a great time to buy a membership to the Performing Arts Centre.

"With a host of diverse and vibrant performances on the calendar for 2011, including ‘Furiously Fertile’, ‘Matching Jack’, ‘Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow’, ‘Melbourne Chamber Orchestra’ and ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’, now is the time to join the membership program and reap the rewards of a wonderful theatre year," Ms Roberts concluded.
