Have your say on Rosedale Streetscape Plan

Residents of Rosedale have been given a final opportunity to have their say on streetscape improvements for Rosedale

By Wellington Shire Council - 27th May 2002 - Back to News

Rosedale Urban Design Study has been underway since October last year.

The final draft plans for the streetscape improvements proposed as part of the study are about to be placed on display.

Wellington Mayor Malcolm Hole has urged residents to make sure they provide feedback to the plans.

"These current plans are the result of community consultation held in March. Council took into account issues raised at that time and is now keen to get final comment before the study is adopted," said Mayor Hole.

"It is important that residents realise this will be the final opportunity for them to comment before the study goes before Council."

The $20,000 study has been jointly funded by Council and the Department of Infrastructure as part of the Pride of Place funding.

It looks at ways of enhancing the appeal of Rosedale and has identified a number of opportunities to increase visitor numbers.

Initiatives include more car parking, awnings over shops, guidelines for future development along the highway, public art and streetscape improvements.

The streetscape improvement plans will be on display in the window of Foodwise Supermarket, Rosedale until Friday 14 June 2002.
