The Living Young Plan sets out Council’s priorities to help improve the health and wellbeing of all young people aged zero to 25 in Bass Coast over the next four years. The Plan has been developed over the last 12 months and included significant consultation with the community, as well as stakeholders and local service providers and partners.

Plan for the future of young people

Bass Coast Mayor Cr Brett Tessari emphasised the need for this Plan for the future of young people in Bass Coast. "Bass Coast is a wonderful place to bring up children and this Plan will help us to provide for children, young people and families, now and into the future."

Aim to help in any way

Cr Tessari said, "The Plan sets out actions for Council and service providers to address the needs of our young people to make them happier, healthier and ultimately create a better Bass Coast for young people. Our young people are our future and it is so important that we help them in every way we can.

Delivering meaningful actions

Mayor Cr Brett Tessari concluded, "With significant issues and opportunities in Bass Coast such as the impacts of COVID-19, high levels of disadvantage, low uptake of higher education, along with the new initiatives including funded three-year-old kindergarten and central enrolment, it is crucial that we deliver meaningful actions in a strategic way in collaboration with partner organisations."
