"We plan to leave a lasting impression on the whole party and perhaps happy memories of their time here will help the team’s aspirations for the 2005 season."

During the team’s three-day visit, players and officials will visits schools in the region as well as aged care facilities and hospitals.

Cr Rowe said the team had advised that it wanted to embrace the East Gippsland community in as broad a way as possible.

"Players and officials want to be generous with the time they devote to local youth as well as the older members of the community and they can be assured this will be welcomed by all," Cr Rowe said.

"For this reason we want to give them a spectacular introduction to the region as well as a hero’s welcome in Lakes Entrance."

"President of the Lakes Entrance based St Kilda Supporters Group, Bob Kaylock said the "Cruiser with The Saints" was a great way to welcome the team.

"It will showcase one of the jewels in the East Gippsland crown and give players and officials an experience to remember for many a long day," he said.
