Yallourn North Preschool receives generous donationABB Australia has bestowed upon the Yallourn North Preschool a welcomed donation of $500. By Latrobe City Council - 25th July 2006 - Back to News Yallourn North Preschool Director, Maria Mendrina, has said that the extra money has already been put to good use.
"There are always things to be bought, upgraded, maintained or repaired around a preschool, so we gratefully accept this generous gift. There has been quite a bit of activity around our preschool recently, so these funds will go towards the costs.
"We have recently painted the children’s wooden play fort, and other wooden play equipment, which could otherwise be detrimental to the children’s health if left uncoated. The playground has also been recently re-mulched, sanded areas topped up, and a number of trees have been removed or moved - all working towards a safer environment for the children.
"ABB Australia has also kindly donated a number of items estimated to be worth more than $1500 dollars to be used as prizes at our upcoming Quiz Night including folding camping chairs, soft folding eskys and picnic sets.
"We also have to thank Keith Tomholt and Pinegro for their help with the remulching. Pinegro has supplied approximately 10 cubic metres of Australia Standard Playground pine bark to be laid underneath climbing frames and around the playground.
"Without the help of companies like these, we would not be able to offer the high level of service that we endeavour to provide. With the invaluable assistance from generous companies like ABB and Pinegro, our money is left to be used towards other important things like toys for the children and teaching aids.
Yallourn North Preschool’s Quiz night is to be held on Wednesday 18 October at the Yallourn North Bowling Club. For more information, please contact the Yallourn North Preschool on 5167 1440.
