By news@gippsland - 5th September 2023 - Back to News Latrobe City Council launched its Small Business Festival yesterday, Monday 4 September with special guest Victorian Small Business Commissioner, Lynda McAlary-Smith. Local small business owners attended the launch of the Small Business Festival which celebrates the important role small business plays, not only in our local economy but in our community. Latrobe City has more than 7,500 small businesses, all of which are the heartbeat of Latrobe City's economy.

"This sector is the lifeblood of our local economy, and it is events like this that help us celebrate the contributions businesses make to our community." "As part of council's Our Transition Plan, council is committed to working with local businesses and industries, along with education and training providers to create a skill base that aligns with current and future business needs," said the Mayor. Business festival highlightsThe Small Business Festival will deliver a series of events and workshops featuring thought leaders from around Australia encouraging upskilling, knowledge sharing and networking. Special guest presenters include award-winning speaker and marketing maven, Katrina McCarter, customer experience mogul Amanda Stevens, and demographic and global trends expert Simon Kuestenmacher. The festival program includes various workshops and keynote presentations that are all free to attend. The Small Business Festival is delivered by council to show support for local businesses and provide them with the resources they need to grow and succeed.
