Tucked away in Tyers Park is an unassuming little walk that takes you straight to some of the best views in Victoria. Only a ten-minute climb, this uphill amble brings you to a wooden walkway that hangs over the edge of the gorge. 
Hidden in Tyers Park, a ten-minute climb leads to stunning gorge views from a wooden lookout - an unforgettable slice of paradise just two hours east of Melbourne Bring your camera and prepare for your heart to swell a size by this little slice of paradise. Petersons Lookout is located just over 2 hours’ drive east of Melbourne, just north of Morwell and Traralgon, in the bushland surrounds of Tyers Park. 
Climb the short Peterson's Lookout Trail for golden-lit Tyers Gorge views, river vistas, and birdlife - or continue along the longer Wirilda Trail for a deeper forest adventure Petersons LookoutIn Tyers Park, you can walk up the short Petersons Lookout Trail (400m, 10 minutes one-way) for unparalleled views of the Tyers Gorge. Here you can watch the Tyers River wind through the bushland and see birds wheeling through the canopy. The best views are to be had in early morning or late afternoon when the gorge is bathed in a soft golden light. Camera essential. These show-stopping views are Insta-worthy. If you are feeling up to it, pack some snacks and go for a longer walk along the Wirilda Trail (18km, 6 hours one way), which follows the river deep into the heart of the forest. Wirilda is another name for swamp wattle, which you will find along the riverbank, among silvergums and tea trees. 
Experience Traralgon arts, wetlands, cycling trails, wineries, breweries, and culinary delights, plus family fun at the aquatic centre and explore the unique Maltese Museum in nearby Morwell Things to do nearby- Visit the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (Traralgon) for a riveting events program – whether that’s musical theatre, comedy or live music

Sip some wine while digging into delicious dishes like Thai beef salad or pumpkin shell pasta. After lunch, digest your meal by going for a walk or a bike ride along a section of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail. The Glengarry leg of the trail will take you over Eaglehawk Creek. Before dinner, pop into Good Land Brewery for a fresh pale ale. Enjoy dinner on the rooftop of MOMO Restaurant, with a menu of classic bar favourites featuring local produce. Finish the evening with a show at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre, before crashing at the Mantra for a well-deserved rest.
