Aid in the line of fireLatrobe fire-fighters join the American crusade By Brad Apple - 10th August 2000 - Back to News Following an outbreak of raging fires across the US, locals like firefighter Tony Edgar rush to their aid.
A recipient of the Australian fire Service medal for great contribution to fire management in Victoria, his expertise and skills will be of much use in the line of fire.
Mr Edgar's job in the states will be to assess where fire fighters from Australia and New Zealand can be of help. Working more in areas concerning control and management they will help to assist diminishing and tiring resources.
The fires are spread over a huge area of America, including California, Texas, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Montana, Nevada and Wyoming.
The chosen Australians will be unrelentless in their fight against the flames. It is good to know that our lives are in very capable hands.
