"By celebrating leadership, entrepreneurship and creativity, the awards encourage young people to achieve their full potential." Mr Northe also announced a new category, the „Minister for Youth Affairs Sustainability Award.‟ "This new award celebrates and recognises young people who are demonstrating environmental leadership or making a significant contribution to a liveable and sustainable Victoria," Mr Northe said. The award is open to young people who are generating ideas about sustainability and the environment in their local region, sharing solutions and creating strategies for change in the future. The Victorian Young Achiever Awards 2014 recognise the achievements of young people in seven categories: · Victorian Government's Small Business Achievement Award; · Minister for Youth Affairs Sustainability Award; · Academy Graphics Regional Achiever Award; · BASF Science and Technology Award; · Saward Dawson Community Service and Volunteering Award; · The Coffee Club Arts Award; and · Australian Super Kick Start Award. An overall winner – the Victorian State Young Achiever of the Year – will also be chosen. Award winners will be announced in May next year at a gala dinner at Etihad Stadium. Each winner will receive $2,000. Nominations are open until 22 January 2014. For more information or to download a nomination form visit: http://www.awardsaustralia.com/young-achiever-awards/vic
