Telling the Stories of Yarragon Veterans

Yarragon Community Hall Committee to restore the Australian Natives Association Yarragon Branch No 217 Honour Board.

The Andrews Labor Government is keeping the legacy of our veterans alive for future generations in Yarragon.

Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Harriet Shing has announced $1,800 for Yarragon Community Hall Committee to restore the Australian Natives Association Yarragon Branch No 217 Honour Board.

The grant was approved as part of the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Grant Program, which goes to restoring community war memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour.

The project will restore the WW1 honour board c.1918 reflects the service of members of the Australian Natives Association Yarragon Branch No 217.

It is one of 10 projects that were funded through the Program, sharing a total $104,718. Along with the Victoria Remembers Programs, it is part of almost $420,000 that will go to support veterans initiatives.

Community war memorials and avenues of honour have been an important part of the way Victorians show respect for our veterans.
