Melina Bath presses Labor government for details on maintenance and upgrades of the San Remo Bridge safety]

The San Remo bridge, the sole link between Phillip Island and Victoria, needs urgent maintenance. I'm urging the Allan Labor government to provide details on inspections, upkeep, and upgrades for community safety and tourism.

The San Remo bridge is the only vehicle connection between Phillip Island to mainland Victoria, and I share the community's frustration over an apparent lack of maintenance. The bridge's structural integrity, and limited information being provided to residents while investigations are undertaken have been a topic of concern to my office.

The Allan Labor government should be transparent for details on past inspections, maintenance, and upgrade timelines for the vital San Remo bridge, crucial for Phillip Island's community and tourism

On behalf of local residents, I am seeking answers from the Allan Labor Government on past engineering inspections, maintenance of the bridge and a proposed timeline of upgrade works - locals deserve to know its status. Phillip Island is home to a thriving community and some of Victoria's premier tourist attractions - the bridge's structural integrity and the safe passage of locals and visitors must be a priority.
