"A new round of the Government’s "Sporting Club Grants" is now open for applications to local grassroots sporting clubs" said Mr Northe.

Four category options are available for sporting clubs to apply for including; grants towards uniforms and equipment and training funding for coaches, officials and volunteers.

Grassroots sporting clubs really are the heart of the community and often made up of many dedicated volunteers.

"The Sporting Club Grants will help to create more opportunities for local sporting organisations and their participants, coaches, officials and volunteers," Mr Northe said.

  • $5000 to improve operational effectiveness.
  • $2000 to address barriers that Indigenous athletes face in terms of participation in sport and active recreation
