Small Business Wins With Coalition Government At Christmas

Nationals Member for Morwell and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business Russell Northe has encouraged local businesses to enter a competition to win free business mentoring this Christmas.

"The All I want for Christmas is a Small Business Mentor competition gives Victorian small businesses the opportunity to win one of 10 mentoring packages from the Small Business Mentoring Service experts," Mr Northe said. "The three session packages are an opportunity for mentors and business owners to work together in developing a plan of action to grow the business. "The Small Business Mentoring Service is a fantastic not-for-profit organisation with over 70 mentors around the state. "Most mentors have run a successful small business or have been in a company at a senior level and have expertise in areas such as sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, retailing, franchising and tourism potential."

Small business owners can go online to the Business Victoria website (www.business.vic.gov.au) and follow the link to the competition form.

Entrants simply explain in 30 words or less what their business would do with a mentoring package and the 10 best explanations will receive a free mentoring package. Mr Northe wished all Latrobe Valley businesses a safe and happy Christmas and said that with sound planning, innovative thinking and good customer service, small businesses could look forward to a prosperous 2012.

"I encourage all small businesses to enter the competition as well as consider professional mentoring as part of their business development next year," Mr Northe said. The All I want for Christmas is a Small Business Mentor competition closes on 22 December 2011.
