Sixth Annual Charity BallThe Sixth Annual Mayoral Charity Ball will be held on Friday, 2 October 2009 at the newly refurbished Wonthaggi Town Hall. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 20th July 2009 - Back to News Bass Coast Mayor, John Duscher said all proceeds from the night go to the Bass Coast Community Foundation.
"The Bass Coast Community Foundation is a local philanthropic trust, established by local people, to help the Bass Coast community," said Cr Duscher.
"Over the last six years the Mayoral Charity Ball has raised over $60,000 and relies on the support of individuals and businesses.
"I’m pleased to announce that Tabro Meats and the Inlet Hotel have come on board as our first gold sponsors and we are hoping more local businesses will follow," said Cr Duscher.
The Charity Ball is the major fundraising event for the Foundation, which relies on the support of individuals and businesses.
"The proceeds from the Charity Ball are vital to assist the Foundation in continuing its important work within the Bass Coast community," explained Cr Duscher.
"The Ball is a way for people to enjoy a great night out and give something back to the community. This year’s theme is Cabaret.
Cr Duscher said there were a number of ways that people could get involved.
"We are looking for businesses to sponsor the night," said Cr Duscher.
"If you think your business could be involved, please contact Samantha Bennett or Amalee Stivic at Council.
"Or you can buy a ticket and come along for a night of wonderful food and entertainment."
Cr Duscher has urged the community to continue to support the Charity Ball.
"For the first time the Foundation is offering community groups within the Shire a Mayoral Charity Ball Community Grant of up to $5,000 from the proceeds from this year’s Ball.
"I strongly encourage community groups to apply; application forms are available from the Foundation and close on Friday, 24 July," explained Cr Duscher
