Enrolments Open for Online CourseNew course provides an on-line mode of delivery for candidates who cannot attend on-campus By Eimear McNelis - 2nd December 2002 - Back to News GippsTAFE’s On-line Professional Writing and Editing course is now open for the 2003 intake.
The new course provides an on-line mode of delivery for candidates who cannot attend the course on-campus.
The on-line course commenced last year and took in candidates already in professional writing careers, Year 12 graduates and mature aged students.
The writing course, which is also run on-campus, is in its third successful year and provides graduates with pathways into professional writing fields and further tertiary study.
The course is currently delivered at a Certificate IV level with the option of continuing into Diploma level through GippsTAFE and then Bachelor level at Monash University or other universities.
Modules on offer include writing for public relations, media, editing, fiction, short story, novel, computer skills, and Internet for writers.
Students also have the opportunity to enrol in on-campus modules including photography, industry visits and a two week industry experience module.
All candidates must attend an interview with the course coordinator. Interviews for 2003 will be held December 9-14 in 2002 and January 28-31 in 2003.
