Road Closures Traralgon – Jayco Herald Sun Tour

On Sunday 12 and Monday 13 October 2008, the opening events of the 2008 Jayco Herald Sun Tour will be taking place in Traralgon

Motorists are advised of the following road closures and restrictions:

The southern side of Kay Street (directly outside Traralgon swimming pool), between Breed and Mabel streets, will be closed to traffic from 7am on Saturday 11 October until 12 noon on Monday 13 October.

The criterium circuit road closures will be implemented from 4am until 7pm on Sunday 12 October, and will include the following road closures:

  • Kay Street, from Loch Park Road to Franklin Street;
  • Franklin Street, from Kay Street to Seymour Street;
  • Seymour Street, from Franklin Street to Church Street;
  • Church Street, from Seymour Street to Kay Street.

Parking in the affected area will not be permitted from 4am Sunday 12 October untill 7pm on Sunday 12 October to enable the event to be set up and to avoid vehicles being parked on the event course. Any vehicles within this area will be towed away.

On Monday 13 October stage-one of the road race commences from Kay Street at 10.30am and makes its way through Boolarra (approx 12 noon) to Inverloch. Motorists can expect delays as rolling road closures are implemented as the race progresses. The following roads will be impacted during this time: Kay Street, Loch Park Road, Church Street, Breed Street, Churchill/Hazelwood Road (Traralgon), Tramway Road, Hazelwood Estate Road, Yinnar Road (Churchill), Monash Highway (Yinnar), Tarwin Street (Boolarra)
